New Documentation: Sovereign Workload Hosting with SimpleCluster

The Apeiro Reference Architecture Documentation adds two new topics to the Showroom section on sovereign workload hosting with SimpleCluster.

The Sovereign Workload Hosting scenario covers the three hosting arrangements available when a customer needs a say in where a workload runs: provider-hosted infrastructure, a customer-selected cloud, or the customer's own data center. The focus is on responsibilities: who operates the environment, who handles the application lifecycle, how access is audited and revoked, and what happens to data when the service ends. It also sets expectations: location is one part of sovereignty, and a portable deployment definition does not provide migration or automatic failover. The scenario was developed in collaboration with several European cloud providers.

The SimpleCluster Provisioning tutorial is a step-by-step walkthrough from service activation to a ready cluster: binding the Apeiro Hosting and SimpleCluster APIs via kubectl kcp bind apiexport, applying a SimpleCluster request referencing a provider configuration, following provisioning in the portal and via CLI wait commands, and retrieving cluster credentials securely. Architecture and resource-sequence diagrams, a downloadable example cluster request, and portal screenshots are included at each stage.
