Our mission
ApeiroRA is the Apeiro Reference Architecture
The project aims to develop a reference blueprint for an open, flexible, powerful, secure, and compliant next generation cloud-edge continuum. The reference will be made available in true open source as a straightaway usable construction kit that provides blueprints and re-usable components for central building blocks. It forms the centerpiece proposal for all EU participants to align on joint interoperability standards. ApeiroRA therefore will provide a strong fundament for conformance, future software development, compatible deployments, and usage of interoperable cloud services reinforcing the common target of a cloud-edge continuum in Europe.

ApeiroRA is built in a decentralized, transparent, and iterative open-source model. Projects use enterprise-friendly licenses and collaborate with the Linux Foundation, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, Eclipse Foundation, and Apache Software Foundation as part of a shared European digital commons. NeoNephos, part of Linux Foundation Europe, is the neutral home for ApeiroRA’s flagship projects. Its mission is to reduce dependency on non-sovereign platforms, accelerate cloud-to-edge interoperability, and give businesses a trusted foundation to scale on. Several ApeiroRA projects have been donated to NeoNephos to ensure long-term sustainability beyond IPCEI-CIS, accelerate third-party adoption, and establish an openly governed baseline that European enterprises can rely on.
